The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said it will soon issue a Rs 50 currency note in Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series, which will be fluorescent blue in colour.
The rupee largely shrugged off the high volatility in stocks and ended steady at 64.15 against the US dollar even as investors reacted to US political turmoil.
FCAs, a major portion of the overall reserves, rose by USD 175.6 million to USD 369.899 billion, the data showed.
The impending GST regime has made a dent on India Inc' earnings for the April-June period, with profit growth falling to a five quarter low of 11 per cent.
RBI will pause at the next policy review and go in for a final 0.25 per cent rate cut in the December review, a brokerage said.
