The Kejriwal govt will also re-introduce three bills in the Monsoon session which were earlier sent back by the Centre with some objections.
The Delhi govt approved three bills, including one related to hike in minimum wages, to be re-introduced in the Monsoon Session.
"Taking into all the consideration, we have decided to constitute the committee that will look into minimum wage fixation," Dattatreya said.
GDP increased at a 2.6 percent annual rate in the April-June period, which included a boost from trade, the Commerce Department said.
The proposed legislation is expected to benefit over 4 crore employees across the country.
Rai clarified that there was "no stay" by the Delhi High Court on the minimum wages order and it was "very much in place".
"The ministerial panel on labour issues headed by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has already approved the Code on Wages," a source said.
The Acting Labour Secy identified the "four-tier wage structure" as one of the main reasons under which cos have been hiring foreign workers on H-1B visas on a low wage.
A government report last week showed private sector wages recorded their biggest gain in 10 years in the first quarter.
Union labour minister Bandaru Dattatreya asserted the government has "moved quite ahead" on the employment generation front and will focus more on increasing wages.
