August 13: Asset quality worsens for State Bank of India (SBI) with bad loans hitting a nine-year high. Bloomberg TV India asks outgoing SBI Chief Pratip Chaudhuri where the pressure is coming from. The bank has a handle on large and medium-size corporates but work is needed on SMEs, he says, adding that there is no corporate demand for loans.
