September 26: Morgan Stanley’s Ridham Desai says, “We’re seeing a structural decline in equity savings in India in the past 20 years. India’s equities tend to follow global financial market cycles, so it has a tendency to get over or undervalued depending on global flows,” he says. The country’s supply of risk capital is the lowest among the Fragile Five nations, he says, adding that the Indian equities investor is demanding high returns with a short-term view.
