TRAI Suggests Huge Cut In Spectrum Price

September 10: TRAI has recommended a sharp reduction in the 2G spectrum reserve price and proposes that spectrum trading be allowed. Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal says the government is principally in agreement with the telecom regulator. While the industry seems happy about the recommended cuts in price, the suggestions have not gone down well with newer telcos and those who participated in the November 2012 auctions when reserve price was much higher.
