Bloomberg TV Impact: SEBI Softens Stand On Safety Net

On June 21, Bloomberg TV India reported on SEBI’s push for companies to apply the safety net provision for their IPOs. Commenting on the measure, JFA’s Berjis Desai had called it a “bargaining tool”, which could only be implemented through the back door. Now, SEBI Chairman U.K. Sinha admits to receiving strong views against the provision. “There is no informal pressure on companies to implement the safety net,” he added.
