Fed Tapering Impact To Be Insignificant: Robert Aspin

September 2: Referring to the US Fed’s withdrawal of quantitative easing, Robert Aspin, Head Equities Investment Strategy at Standard Chartered Bank, says the impact of the tapering will be insignificant as markets have mostly priced it in. “The initial size of the tapering is critical,” he says, adding that it could be an estimated $5-$10 billion. He expects volatility for equity markets but sees bond yields trending higher.
