September 2: Hardcastle Restaurants, owner of McDonalds' West and South franchise in India, became a wholly owned subsidiary of Westlife Developments last week. The company hopes to access capital markets to pump its speedy expansion plans. Amit Jatia, Vice Chairman of Westlife Development, says the company will add 75-100 McDonald’s stores in two years. “Westlife Development plans to be among the largest players in the industry in the next 5-6 years,” he says.
