September 4: “There will always be some tension between the executive and judiciary, who are often seen as severe adversaries,” says Zia Mody, Managing Partner at AZB Partners. Sometimes the government wants the Supreme Court to do what it cannot do politically, but there is no harm in reviewing judgments after some time, she adds. However, it is not fair to see the SC as a magic wand; its judgments are remedies but solutions need to come from the political machinery, she says.
