“Rupee Fair Value Should Be Near 61/$”

September 6: JPMorgan Sajjid Chinoy says it’s hard to put a number on the rupee’s fair value. “Our estimates show the rupee’s fair value in the 59-61/$ range, which means we are deeply overshot now,” he says. Overshooting is not uncommon says, DBS India’s Arvind Narayanan, who also puts the fair value at 61-62/$. “As long as the RBI and government work together to revive confidence, there is still enough money out there looking for long-term investment in India,” he adds.
