September 10: The new RBI governor has done a good job in the first few days in office, says Tai Hui, Chief Market Strategist Asia at JPMorgan Funds. Raghuram Rajan has imposed confidence by adopting a hands-on approach, but the challenge now is to manage longer-term issues, such as the twin deficits, for which he needs government support, he says. The RBI may tighten policy further to tackle currency and inflation in order to achieve longer-term stability, he adds.
