September 10: Referring to the ratings risk for India, Satyajit Das, Author and Risk Consultant, says no one deserves to be downgraded. However, India has problems with its budgetary position, its current account deficit, a sluggish banking system and weak nominal growth, he says. “Bad loans are a major problem and the external environment remains nasty,” he says, while predicting that the ratings pressure will likely continue.
