September 10: We had the Supreme Court say that spectrum is precious and needs to be priced fairly and auctioned carefully, but now the TRAI has slashed prices drastically. Balbir Singh Of DSK Legal says, “We need to see if the TRAI recommendations are accepted. The pricing issue will remain and won’t be free of litigation.” The difference in pricing between the 2012 auction and that recommended by TRAI now is unfair, tilts the playing field and could also lead to more litigation, he adds.
