September 19: The US economy is recovering but Fed would like to see it on a stronger footing, says Bill Maldonado, CIO Asia Pacific at HSBC Global Asset Management. While housing is on the mend and inflation is on a downward trend, they are watching the jobs market and would like it to be nearer to their target before they begin tapering, he says. The Fed will look at data before making a decision and while it is not time yet, tapering is not far away either, he adds.
