September 19: The Rajiv Gandhi Equity Savings Scheme was launched by the government with much fanfare last year. But over a year since it was first announced by then-finance minister Pranab Mukherjee, the scheme has received a poor response. Now, the Parliamentary Standing Commmittee on Finance has recommended a complete review of the scheme.
