September 23: India Infoline Chairman Nirmal Jain says we are looking at 4.5-5% GDP growth, which is much below India’s potential of 8-10%. “However, we must put this in the current global context,” he says, pointing to India’s long-term potential. The global recovery is on track but our macros will take a while to start looking better, he says. Markets react and see opportunities faster and the banking stocks will be the first to bounce back, he adds.
