September 23: India Infoline Chairman Nirmal Jain says he does not expect anything to change radically on policy front, especially project clearances, before the coming elections. He points out that the months before the previous elections have usually been optimistic and he hopes that will hold true in the second half of this fiscal as well. “Sometimes sentiment drives investment, and we may see a pickup in consumption as election nears,” he says.
