September 23: The mining sector is primarily facing environment and law and order issues, says Anil Swarup, Head of the Project Monitoring Group, adding that if we can handle these, investments in mining will pick up again. It is clear that there is no shortage of coal in the country, but there is a time lag in these issues being addressed, which is something the government is working on, he says.
