September 24: There will be a flight of foreign investment in Indian debt once Fed tapering resumes, says T.T. Ram Mohan, Professor at IIM-Ahmedabad. The crucial question is how long will foreign investors stay in Indian equities once Fed starts unwinding its bond buying programme, he says, adding that this will be a function of how the Indian economy pans out. “RBI is positioning itself to tackle slower growth and an expanding fiscal deficit,” he adds.
