September 24: “India needs a great deal of infrastructure but at the end of the day it is difficult to get money to work with the political populism in the country,” says Andrew Economos of JPMorgan AMC. The government is trying to appease the electorate instead of what’s best for the economy and what will benefit foreign investors, he says. There is huge potential in infra and we have been investing heavily through the private equity route, he adds.
