September 30: Kotak Mahindra Bank’s Indranil Pan says exports are doing well due to a weak currency and a better global demand. The other big issue is oil prices, which is not much higher than the previous year, he says, adding that software exports may also increase if global demand improves. All this, along with curbs on gold imports, should contribute to a better CAD, but India still needs to act incrementally to rectify its structural problems, he adds.
