December 24: The debt-laden Jaypee Group is close to selling two out of its three hydroelectric projects for $1.5 billion. Mint learns that Abu Dhabi-based Energy Company, Taqa, will buy 51% stake, while a Canadian pension fund will purchase 39%. IDFC Alternatives, the private equity unit of IDFC, will buy 10%.
