February 18: Finance Minister P. Chidambaram stuck to his promises once again and managed to rein in the fiscal deficit to under the 4.8% target that he had set earlier. The Opposition was quick to dismiss the interim Budget saying the Finance Minister juggled numbers to achieve his target.
