He is an engineer, MBA finance from Australia and CFA Level 3 Candidate by education. Prior to joining journalism, Piyush has served in institutional equity research for Deutsche Bank, Crisil, Morningstar where he got the opportunity to cover large global companies with operations spread across 5 continents.
As institutional equity research professional, he was rated as 5 star equity analyst by Reuters analyst rating system. As an analyst, he interacted with FIIs, press, media and has also been part of sales team for pitching stock ideas. He excels in understanding commodities and has been part of global teams for writing thematic reports on commodities like gas, copper, iron, coal and others. This gives him the advantage of deciphering the supply demand in stocks where commodity prices play an important role. He has also created global positional forex strategies for European and Middle East hedge funds.
