September 18: TRAI Chairman Rahul Khullar disagrees that incumbents are advantaged to pick spectrum and says many operators have both 1800 MHz and 900 MHz in a circle. The industry is polarised between incumbents and new entrants and now anyone can bid for 900 MHz, he says, adding that bidders will know if they’re losing in a band and can make back-up plans. He remains certain of healthy competition for spectrum and denies allegations that TRAI is rigging competition.
