August 28: Timothy Moe, Chief Asia-Pacific Equity Strategist at Goldman Sachs, says the circumstances are less stressful than the 1981 crisis, but the external imbalances are more than India can sustain from a stable longer-term source of funding. The government needs to take tough decisions now to bring down the CAD, he says, adding that the falling rupee is not oversold but at a more fair-value level now.
