‘Not just another rate cut, need change in policy stance’

Sunil Kumar Sinha, India Ratings, says in addition to another rate cut, people are also expecting a change in policy stance; from neutral to accommodative. On the possibility of a third rate cut, he said it will depend on the data after the second rate cut, especially in view of monsoon. He says the market expects both WPI and CPI inflation to remain benign, and adds food inflation is not likely to pose a threat.
