Auto Sector Facing Major Crisis, Needs Revival Package: Vishnu Mathur, SIAM

India’s domestic passenger vehicle sales in July plunged 30.9 per cent, the ninth consecutive month of decline. Speaking to BTVI, Vishnu Mathur, Director General at Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), said the auto sector is facing major crisis and needs a revival package. He said SIAM has requested the government to reduce GST to 18 per cent, look into the NBFC liquidity issues and a scrappage policy for old vehicles.
