October 8: Once it realized environmental clearances were far too lax 10 years ago, the government swung to the other extreme, says Gajendra Haldea, Advisor to the Deputy Chairman at the Planning Commission. He also points to excessive land acquisition by the industry, and says an 'unfair' perception on land buys led to the new land law.
