October 18: M Srinivaasan, President at the Indian Sugar Mills Association, says sugar being sold below costs have led to huge losses this year. He suggests an immediate ban on imports, implementation of Rangarajan’s revenue-sharing formula and co-ordination between centre and state governments to solve the sugar problem. In this segment, he also speaks about sugar exports and the worst-affected states.
