August 5: S.L. Bansal, Chairman of the Oriental Bank Of Commerce, says, “The RBI is waiting for stability before it rolls back its measures. However, if the measures continue for some months it will hit markets and force us to reevaluate our base rates.” Referring to capital raising requirements, he says, “We have requested the government for Rs.1,600 crore of capital, though we are at a comfortable case adequacy ratio now.”
