Rupee Gains On RBI’s Special Dollar Window For OMCs

August 29: The rupee snapped a three-day fall and pulled back on RBI moves to open a forex-swap window for OMCs. Dealers say the measures, which removes daily OMC demand for $400-500 million off the market, will likely lead to spot rate improvement and improve sentiment. The central bank had last opened such a window during the 2008 global financial crisis.
