Sebi tightens noose for pledged shares, MFs

Sebi tightened norms for liquid mutual funds to protect its investors on Thursday. Sebi Chairman Ajay Tyagi said that the market regulator body does not recognise the standstill agreement signed by fund houses with promoters. This raises questions on whether the fund houses that signed agreement with Zee would go ahead and keep their pledged shares.
