Will RBI Deliver 4th Consecutive Rate Cut?

Nearly 80 per cent of economists polled expect the RBI to cut repo rate by 25 basis points (bps) on August 7. A 25 bps cut will take the benchmark rate to 5.5 per cent, the lowest since July 2010. Majority of the economists see room to cut repo rate to 5.25 per cent by early 2020. On the show, Sameer Narang, chief economist at Bank of Baroda and Lakshmi Iyer, chief investment officer-debt at Kotak Mutual Fund, give their views on the possible rate cut by the central bank and the key triggers.
